Home for 10 days

It is good to be home, we have enjoyed the quite, beauty of fall and comfort of being in our own home.
Praises: Carl is eating better each day, walking around the house and yard, abdominal wound is slowly healing and no infection, home health nurse and PT have been very helpful and supportive. We enjoyed celebrating birthdays and time with family these past 10 days. Friends and family have been generous with time and supporting us.
Carl does not have pain, he is cutting back on the morphine slowly, in the next week he should be off this with out feeling sick.
Colostomy is working, it is a process for Carl to adjust to this new body image.
Jody was able to go to a planned retreat for 2 1/2 days, the theme was " The name of the Lord is a strong tower, the righteous run to it and are safe". Proverbs 18:10. It was held at the Grand Hotel on Mackinac Island. Thanks to family for covering for me so I could be refreshed.
Jody's 6 month CT(cat scan )was negative, no cancer noted
Prayers: Carl to have increase desire to eat and drink, that food will sound good to him and not be a chore. Carl lost over 50# since start of illness , he continues with some shortness of breath, fatigue and general weakness. His hemoglobin was 8.3 at discharge, it is slowly coming up 10.6 ( normal is 13-18). A planned Dr visit this past Thursday was delayed until this Tuesday. We are hoping he will get permission to sit, he has not sat since this past March.
Grateful for God who is all powerful and to family and friends who have supported us. We will never be able to say thank you enough, we hope to pass on blessings to others in the near future.
To God be the glory!
Carl and Jody
