Day 27. Sunday
Dr Martin came to see Carl this morning, the Dr has decided to keep Carl in bed for 2 more days to protect the flap. He plans to remove the dressing Tuesday afternoon. Carl is not able to tolerate much food by mouth, "feels like food is just sitting in his stomach " they will re evaluate the idea of restarting TPN (IV nutrition).
Carl is using less pain meds from pain pump , he is able to roll to side briefly every 2 hours to reposition pillows.
Praises ; less pain, skin with out pressure sores, alert, tol bedrest by watching TV or sleeping, no infection. He seems peaceful, staff is kind and caring.
Prayers please: his stomach will feel better and he can eat, healing flap and no infection.
" In his heart a man plans his course, but the Lord determines his steps." Proverbs 16:9

If there was ever a time we realize -we are not in control -- it is for you and Carl and family right now. We are praying for Carl to tolerate more food-- and that the flap heals well over these next two days-- PTL for the wonderful staff- no infection and that you both are able to see the good!! God be with you and continue to hold you close!
ReplyDeleteJody...our prayers continue for carl and your family.
ReplyDeleteI love the Jeremiah text you referenced - when I set my agenda, my will aside - and realize and trust God for the daily steps, how freeing! Thanks so for share God's daily message that He gives you. You've blessed me over and over. You're both covered by prayers!
ReplyDeleteThis was so well-written that I would like to say "ditto!!"
