Day 10

Day 10. Thursday 8/31 Carl vomited during night and was placed back on full liquids today. The ostomy was changed by the ostomy nurse Today and there has been no change. He was up with physical therapy and walked about 35 feet. The flap looks worse and is starting to separate, this is somewhat expected as the blood supply has been compromised and some of the tissue has started to die. The plan is for surgery next week Tuesday to look at the flap and revise the ostomy. His pain has been controlled with oral meds and he has not needed any IV for backup. His pain is a dull ache while in bed and a 6/10 when he is up walking. Please continue to pray for healing and comfort. Boldly pray for a miracle over the weekend and large steps towards recovery and tissue healing/growth prior to surgery.
